Week 14 & 15/2026
30th March to 5th April 2026
Highlight of the week — 3rd to 5th — Udaipur trip.
-
It was a long weekend. We went for a short break to Udaipur — a much-needed timeout from work and home responsibilities.
-
The first two days were a little touristy; we walked so much. But the last day was slower and quieter — we met friends: Vishal, Ayush, and his partner.
-
I had decided I wouldn’t think about work or next moves during this break, but an old acquaintance called and shared a new work opportunity — and just like that, I was gone. The thinking cycle started again.
-
We did a lot of shopping in Udaipur — almost blew our budget, but managed. I bought some nice shirts, Nidhi picked up some cool clothes too. Overall, we enjoyed.
-
After meeting Vishal, I found myself reflecting on how being rooted in one place for a long time shapes your work, thinking, and lifestyle. He lives in Udaipur — knows the markets, the people, collaborates with locals, runs heritage walks and the Jugad makerspace, works on environmental initiatives, and more. He travels a lot to take workshops and facilitate sessions, but he’s always rooted in one place.
-
When you work jobs across different organisations, you’re never really rooted anywhere. You shift your mindset from project to project, place to place, org to org — seeing your work in isolation, disconnected from place-based systems and their interconnectedness. That disconnection feels dangerous to me. I’m reflecting on my own work and roots.
-
I have translated one short children book from English to Gujarati published by Pratham. It was story written like poem, so it was little dificult to crack the translation. I tried my best, let’s hope editor likes it and take it forward.
